Exposé –  Why are these coming events opposite to each other?

Is there a difference?
The first believers knew that Jesus Christ’s Parousia, or His coming, or the arrival of His presence, will precede the awful period to come. In fact, their being gathered to Him will be the event that signals the Day’s beginning….. that is the Day of the Lord. Paul had taught them this at length.

However, they were being taught that it had arrived and is now present!
That was the false teaching in those days, as we see happening today. Now, let’s notice the language of 2 Thessalonians, chapter 2, verse 1:

“Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming [the Parousia] of our Lord Jesus Christ and [or: even] our gathering together to Him….”

In God’s word, Paul speaks about the arrival that brings about His presence: of our Lord Jesus Christ. One definite article, you could put the word ‘even’ are gathering together to Him. In other words, there is one definite article with reference to Parousia and gathering together to Him. So the word ‘and’ could be translated as ‘even’. That is, this phase of the Parousia is our gathering together to Him, which Paul described in 1 Thessalonians, chapter 4, verses 13-17, as Harpazo, or a snatching out or a snatching away.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18  Those who died in Christ

13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep [who died], so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Some people would say, ‘Well, there’s only one Parousia!’

Well, there’s a Parousia; that’s an extended period of time. And the initial phase is the Rapture, and then the Day of the Lord phase – 7 years – is that which must be distinguished. And then Jesus’ returning or His Second Coming, 7 years in the tribulation, concludes the phase of judgment and wrath.

These are some notes on the Parousia, which is quite excellent:

Parousia, this particular term, this first mentioning in 2 Thessalonians, chapter 2, verse 1. The Parousia is the arrival that manifests His presence, because that’s what that word coming means…. The Parousia, the coming of the Lord, must be understood according to the context….

1 There is His coming for the church!

2 And there is His coming with the church at the end of the 7-year tribulation.

You can read that in 2 Thessalonians, chapter 1, when He comes to be glorified in His saints!

You compare that with Revelation 19, verses 7 and following: The church comes with Him.

Matthew 25:30-32 is about Jesus’ Second Coming

…. and the unprofitable servant cast ye forth to the outer darkness; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth. And whenever the Son of Man may come in His glory, and all the holy messengers* with Him, then He shall sit upon a throne of His glory; and gathered together before Him shall be all the nations, and He shall separate them from one another, as the shepherd doth separate the sheep from the goats.

*Messenger or ággelos: properly, a messenger or delegate, one who is sent – either human (Mt 11:10; Lk 7:24, 9:52; Gal 4:14; Js 2:25) or heavenly (a celestial angel); someone sent (by God) to proclaim His message.

1 is silent and unseen by the world; that is a Rapture, which is not seen.

2 And the other, the second, is just the opposite: ‘and every eye will see Him’!

That’s Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, Revelation 1. Every eye will see Him with the Second Coming. Some would call it the second advent.

And secondly, the Lord comes for His bride and takes her to His father’s house.

This would be heaven. This was also the Jewish custom and fits with His promise in John 14:

John 14:1-6  Jesus comforts His people, His disciples

14 “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3 If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And you know the way where I am going.” 5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

And meanwhile Russ Dizdar, among others, has given true Christians the scare of their lives that there is no Rapture, by preparing them for the 7-year Tribulation, as it were (‘The Black Awakening’), without even telling them the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ! By the fruit you recognize the spirit. Was he a Luciferian or a Freemason? I don’t know; God knows, and one day God’s people will know.
Again, the late Doug Riggs had no clue who Russ Dizdar really was, and several others, such as Steven Ben-nun, Steve Quayle, the late Tom Horn, L.A. Marzulli, Professor PhD Dr. David M. Jacobs, etc.
However, the good thing is that through ‘using’ them – or rather, they using Doug – God, the Father, made it possible for Doug’s message to reach the world even more! God is able to make something good out of something bad; here’s how I see it. 🙂

While the Day the Lord begins on earth, the church is presented to the Groom, the Lord Jesus.

And then after the judgment seat of Christ, there is the marriage of the Lamb, that takes place in heaven. We see that in Revelation 19. ‘Hallelujah!’, ‘for the marriage of the Lamb has come. The wife of the Lamb has made herself ready. This is in heaven!
The Rapture is followed by a time of examination. That is when we are caught to meet the Lord in the air, the judgment seat of Christ, and the giving out of rewards, which will require a considerable amount of time.

When the church or the bride returns with Christ in Revelation 19….

she is already clothed in fine linen, bright and clean, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Properly, acts that God approves, focusing on its results.
So these represent rewards for the good works of believers, that is, the works that drive from abiding in the vine [Jesus], faith and obedience; they will form the wedding garments that will glorify Christ.

And thirdly, as another illustration of the differences between the two events:

In 1 Thessalonians 4, the Lord comes and the bride is caught up to meet Him in the air, with no mention at all of a return to earth or a judgment of the earth! But in His Second Coming, described in Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, and Revelation 19, He comes to earth when every eye will see Him, and with the judgment of the earth to follow. We see at the end of Matthew 25, when He comes, He separates the sheep from the goats: those that will enter the Millennium and those who will not.

And fourthly, finally, by the promise given in 1 Thessalonians and the natural chronology of chapters 4 and 5 for the Rapture, – chapter 5 the Day of the Lord – the Rapture occurs before the Day of Wrath.

1 Thessalonians 5:9

For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, for God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

It means deliverance from the wrath of the tribulation.

The Lord Jesus comes to rescue us from the wrath to come.
You can read this in 1 Thessalonians 1:10 and 5:9. At Christ’s Second Coming to earth with His saints, it concludes the Day of Wrath.

So we know that they – the first believers – were being told that they were already in the Day of the Lord.

Are TPTB better informed about the ‘period’ of the Rapture?

Why do they boast or flaunt the following in a song, do you think?
“… Jesus Can’t Save You, Life Starts When The Church Ends.”

So-called ‘ex-Illuminati’, the late Joseph ‘Doc’ Marquis, said, “Governments know there is a Pre-Tribulation Rapture coming!”

Marquis (1956-2018) was a so-called ‘Christian’ writer who claimed to be an ex-member of the Illuminati. According to his version of events, he was initiated into the group at the age of four by his foster aunt, became a high priest at 13, and a master witch at 17, before finally supposedly ‘getting out’ in 1979.
So that way, as a controlled opposition, he has proclaimed some truths, mixed with lies, on the Internet, without any censorship or shadow-banning.

May your mind, soul, and body be preserved intact until His coming:

But test all things carefully. Hold firmly to what is good.

1 Thessalonians 5:21,23-24

21 but examine everything; hold firmly to that which is good.
23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will do it.

Matthew 28:20 KJV: “teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”
This is a mistranslation; it should be:

Matthew 28:20: “teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” – Jesus
‘even to the end of the age’ is the correct translation for the world will certainly not end!
